Actually, I'm not sure this is irony, but that's a whole other discussion. Anyway, as noted to wisn just now: I spent an amount of time fiddling with calendars on my Linux laptop, including hacking up a bit of CGI that would show the current day in the center of a page with the current week, current month, etc. in progressively smaller boxes around it (actually quite a neat UI if I'd ever gotten it working right). Now that I've got a MacBook with iCal on it, I barely use the calendar at all.

So this is being posted from the new toy. I've logged out of the Linux laptop; I'm still trying to figure out some things, and there's still data to be transferred (like archived mailboxes, for example), but I've got most of what I normally use (web, messaging, mail, music, syncing for PDA) set up.

I thought it would be best for the Macbook to take a photo of itself. I haven't yet named it, but I'm leaning towards "Twong". Those of you who dealt in CB radio in the UK and Ireland in the 80's may recognise this name.
