Car criminals have produced their own video and are selling it on the streets of Belfast, it emerged last night.

The graphic, half-hour film of joyriders racing around the west of the city, is on sale for £2 on video or £5 on DVD.

It shows gangs of car thieves as young as 13, driving at high speed, doing handbrake turns, watched by groups of younger children in the Grosvenor Road area.

The home-made movie came to light a few weeks ago when community workers from the area were given copies. It is believed the video, which was shot from a house and also in the back of a stolen car, was made just after Christmas. (Irish Times)

"You'll Love Our Foreign Policy."

Now, what could that possibly be referring to?

This turned up on Zed's bloggy thing (MemeMachineGo): What the Bubble Got Right. It's an interesting read, but I disagree with one sentence in it: "Good ideas always tend to win eventually." I think that belongs in the same bucket as "there's someone for everyone" and "what goes around comes around" and other such wishful thinking. Bad ideas win on a regular basis, and just because they get trumped fifty years down the line doesn't mean they didn't win. Chances are they got trumped by a worse idea, anyway.
