Work is starting to turn into the process-soaked morass that caused me to bail out of Motorola. Alas, certain people seem to be convinced that setting up a process-driven system is simply a matter of smearing "process" over everything you do, and very little consideration is given to how it will actually work.
I have this large and complicated idea for a 90%-automated system to handle what is trying to be achieved, but there are a few barriers in the way of me proposing it: my boss' skepticism, the fact that there's no way I'd get the required time to develop it properly, and, of course, an overwhelming sense of apathy. I'd planned on staying with this job for two years, because after that I walk away with the company pension contribution as well as my own, but now I'm just looking for a way out.
