weekend, summarised
Jul. 18th, 2004 10:58 pmFriday: drive to Ballina. Hang out with friend. We watched crap on TV (I can't even remember what crap; movie? tv show?) until it was sleepy time.
Saturday: much afternoon lounging. We watched Love Actually (video store moment: "ok, so which chick flick do you want to watch?" / "your chick flick, madam") which was not really as good as I expected, then we ran across a variety of streets to catch up with the staging area of the Ballina Salmon Festival / Mardi Gras where we were volunteering as stewards for the parade. Net result: one Guinness tshirt; one hour spent trailing a 200 foot long sea serpent down the main street of Ballina; a unique vantage point for the fireworks; admission to a post-festival party which, well, we left after 5am and people were still looking to party some more.
Sunday: watched Starsky and Hutch (again, a little disappointing), drove back to Dublin, ditched my stuff at the house, went off to the Kings to meet Bob and Conor (both of whom are, in fact, Conor) for a few beers.
