Shake'n'Vac

While Glade is far better than trying to hand-build Gtk+ applications, it's still hellaciously awkward to work with. Also, my C-fu has decreased significantly through sheer lack of practice.

I spent an amount of today reverse-engineering an essentially opaque file format for one of Oracle's tools, mainly trying to track down a bug but also because I can. I find this sort of thing fun, which probably goes a long way towards illustrating the kind of person I am.

House Rules

My roomie has absolutely no respect for my TV-viewing habits. In particular, I just sat down to enjoy the bonus material on the Dogma Special Edition CD, which contains, you know, talking so you have to pay attention to it. And roomie came in from wherever and started talking. Just launched straight into telling me how she'd brought her radio home from work and she was going to throw out the old one and and and and I turned off the DVD and gave up on it. She does this enough that it's annoying, but I feel stupid complaining about it, and on the whole I get on well enough with her. But still.

Riddle me this

I have to work tomorrow, yet the pubs are closed. Are we a religiously controlled country, or are we not?
