As I walked to work yesterday morning, a guy passed me on a bicycle. Silvery hair, high-vis jacket. Headphones. Arms down by his side, head swaying slightly - presumably in time to whatever he was listening to. There was something happy about his demeanour even though he had his back to me, I thought to myself.

Then he spread his arms wide, did a dramatic left/right/left shimmy, put his hands on the handlebars, and looped around a tree on the pavement, before continuing on his way.

I still think wearing headphones when you're cycling is dumb, mind you.

I've spent a good chunk of the last hour trawling flickr to try and find pictures from my various running exploits last year, and I've come to the conclusion that flickr's advanced search is missing some really obvious features. How about this:
  • Start with something like a flickr "related tags" browser
  • On the search results from that, instead of navigating from one tag to another allow me the option of accumulating tags, so I can search for dublin, then dublin and running, and so on
  • On a list of thumbnails, allow me to exclude results based on tag, on user, etc.
  • better boolean support, so I can do something like a search for "dublin and ( running or race or run )"
I suspect it'd be possible to build something like this using the Flickr API, actually, since that's what the related tag browser uses.

Of course, as soon as it's all owned by Microsoft it'll all stop working anyway, so maybe it's all kinda moot.
