Yay: as I fumbled with the door on Friday, I dropped my somewhat aged discman. I've dropped it several times before, as suggested by the various scratches on the casing, but this time I managed to drop it on a shatterable part, as proven by the fact that bits of plastic went flying. This morning I put it in its usual spot, velcro'd to my dashboard, and it continued to work as normal. Go discman!

Gnee: I am listening to my Gronk jukebox. I am in the office. The jukebox is in my house. I have managed, after far too much shouting and abuse, to glue the jukebox to an icecast server which is feeding me choonz right now. The only thing it's missing from out here is the metadata, which I suspect is something to do with it being fed over UDP instead of embedded in the music stream. I'm not sure, though. I do know it works when I'm on the LAN at home.

From the Irish Times
The spokesman also emphasised the relative safeness of motorways compared to two-lane roads where the mortality rate among motorists is 25 times higher.
"safeness"? That's SAFETY, you fool!

This message not approvinated by the committeeing for generalification of English abusity.

update: yes, I realised m-w mentions safeness. I don't care.
