It's somewhat disconcerting when people conform to actual stereotypes. But then, as I keep reminding myself, stereotypes have to come from somewhere.

Yes, there's a point to this. Mostly a little reminder to myself when I look back over this crap in a month's or a year's time.

Cartoon character losing a limb in the current imbroglio in the Gulf: unacceptable. Post-crash photographs of dying UK ex-Royalty on television: Why, that's just fine! I guess since the latter didn't include a naked breast, the FCC deemed it to be within their guidelines.

Somewhat bemused by this proposed California legislation that would require the likes of AOL to send out return envelopes with their CDs to facilitate recycling of the CDs. I mean, you want them to put more packaging out there?

The release I'm burning right now has grown to 270-odd MB. That includes graphicics for all the possible products, plus some AVI animation, plus a complete Linux install, plus the application I wrote, plus, oh, stuff and things and wibbly bits.

It's still a disk and a half smaller than the corresponding Windows-based product, in no small part because Windows takes up a CD by itself and the graphics for the Windows product appear to be uncompressed BMPs (mine are the same files converted to PNG).

your light over Dublin or some such. don't forget to leave a message for Jim Larkin's statue to display to the assembled masses - allegedly it won't be censored, so if you feel like calling us a bunch of drunken ill-tempered felch monkeys, go right ahead.

I'll be in the pub, of course.
