I got some junk mail in the post from the suckweasels who sold me my car (HELLO WINDSOR DEANSGRANGE! YES, YOU ARE SUCKWEASELS!) which, in a timely fashion[1], is in the form of a fake exam paper, albeit scaled down to a 3"x8" gatefold to fit in an envelope. On the front it's all "An t-ARD TESITIMEIREAGH"[2] and "PAPER 1 (300 marks)" and what not, and then towards the bottom it says, "Attempt ALL QUESTIONS otherwise you may loose out on a great deal".

Yes. I may loose out, indeed.

[1] Second-level exams start later today. I did my Intermediate Certificate in 1987 and my Leaving Certificate in 1989. I seem to recall one of my exam ID numbers being 20587, but I'm not gonna haul out the certs just to see which one it is. The Intermediate Certificate is now the Junior Cert, but still takes place at the same point, i.e. after 3 years of second-level schooling. It was used in my school to presort students for the subsequent selection of subjects for the final two years of second-level education, which culminated in the Leaving Cert. We were told the latter was the most important exam we'd do, since it basically sets you up for the third-level placement lottery - better results in the Leaving = more chance of getting what you want, where you want in third level. Of course, that's irrelevant if you're not going on to third-level education...

[2] "The High Test" - I'm not sure that this is even gramatically or idiomatically correct, to be honest.
