This showed up in my mailbox this morning:

Hello Waider,

I've just found your website accidentally, but I actually didn't read all of
the contents..:) From what I saw I can say that your'e a really interesting
person and you listen to good music too ;)
And as I have noticed you've got a single Boris Dlugosch - Never enough.
So I'm here with a little plea for you to rip the cd to mp3 and send to me
somehow :)
could you do that?
I am a good quality music fan so the quality of themusic, that can be found
on Kazaa or something like that, doesn't satisfy me.
I would gladly buy that cd, but in my home country - Lithuania, we don't
have such huge music shops where I could order some cd that they don't have
in stock.
I hope this little help won't be a big difficulty to you and you won't
refuse to help me.

Thank you in advance.

Now, I'm in two minds about this. On the one hand, it's not like I agree with taking the money out of the pockets of starving artists, etc. On the other hand, it's not like I agree with the tactics and policies of the businesses that run the bulk of the music industry, particularly mainstream stuff like the track he's mentioned.

Which is a good track, by the way.

Hmmm.

It's "cited", not "sited".

"Web site", not "Web sight".

"Lose my temper|keys|manhood", not "Loose my temper|keys|manhood". Unless you're smart enough to know the difference between "lose" and "loose", you're wrong to use the second one.

"pore over", not "pour over".

I like to think that English is a living language, and grows to accomodate new cultures and things like street slang, but things like the above are simply wrong wrong wrong and you should learn to recognise them.

And, of course, learn to use the frickin' apostrophe.

It is a constant source of amazement - and irritation - how many otherwise intelligent, well-spoken people get these simple things wrong.

(Also, this post is doomed to have at least one grammatical error by the very nature of its content)
