Went to Amsterdam. Walked around a European city, with road works in the heart of it, in light drizzle and strong winds. Despite Casino, sex shops, coffee shops, and more people than usual speaking languages other than English, I could have been walking down the street in Dublin. My attitude was not helped by the builders next door to Bob's house (where I'm staying) who commence loud construction noises at 7:30am and finish them at about 11am, thus ensuring you're fully awake and cranky by the time they stop banging bits of metal and wood together. Bastards.
