I too never knew the guy, but I stumbled on Thomas Colthurst's RICHH archive way, WAY back when I was too dumb to understand what talk.bizarre was all about. The writing was great in many respects; inventive, erotic, funny, engaging. And I guess that's the only picture I have of the guy: a great writer in a newsgroup that has since become a very, very pale shadow of its former self, populated partly by idiots drawn from its own ranks. At least he didn't become one of those.
