a little moment of "a ha!"

I got home around seven this evening and noticed the TV signal was gone. I shrugged; there's nothing on TV at present that I particularly want to watch, plus I've a few DVDs that I recently acquired but haven't yet sat down to view. Having fed myself I sat down with book 2 of Transmetropolitan (damn you all to hell you people who said I'd like this, because I do, and it's €20 per book) and read most of it. Getting up to make tea I noticed it wasn't yet 9pm, and yet I felt like I'd been reading for ages.

Duh.

Obviously pouring Warren Ellis into your brane for any given period of time is a bit more intense than, say, watching the Simpsons.

I like this. I might give the idea of punting TV receiption entirely a bit more thought.

If you're feeling cheap, you could probably buy the lot from Amazon for some savings.

Yeah, I thought about that. I'm happy to support my local funnybook shop, though, even if they're gouging me just a little. Plus I'm not planning on buying them all at once. In fact, I'm not planning on buying any more before, say, this time next month, since I went on an unholy media splurge this past week or two. *waves from behind a pile of books and discs and cables, oh my!*

I don't know what the public library system is over there, but we have lots of graphic novels over here, so you might wanna check it out.
