boo!

While cooking last night, I opened the back door to let out some smoke, and jumped back suddenly.

You really need to have the presence of mind to stop and place a dime beer bottle thing of some sorts that indicates scale before pulling out the camera.

Yes, I can see how I'd be willing to hold anything in the general region of this size of a spider.

I'm mildy arachnaphobic, after all.

What's to be scared of?! It's obviuously only like a centimeter long!!!

[identity profile] nothings.livejournal.com 2004-08-18 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Anyway, who's asking you to hold it there? Just drop it next to it. Not like it's going to run away or anything!!!

As you may determine from the photo, it's not exactly near any horizontal surfaces.

Oh, that's the WALL.

Your "humour" needs work.

Never deposit items near spiders! They know why you're doing it, they'll be coy and encourage you. They'll offer you beer and ask if you want to see photos of naked women. They'll buy you new shoes. They'll even claim to have pockets which they say they'll gladly show you...that's when they LUNGE AT YOUR THROAT!

I'm surprised that it didn't leap at you while you were futzing around with the camera.

I think I stayed out of leaping distance. Certainly it didn't move for quite a long time.
