more on the sony code

I still haven't heard back from my tester, but if any of y'all own or have access to Sony Network Walkman devices and a Linux box, I'd appreciate if you could grab the MPLE code from my website and give it a gepoken. Especially if you have (access to) anything other than a NW-S23.

other minor newsicles

  • as usual, the sore throat/feverishness has more-or-less passed to make way for the GIANT RIVERS OF SNOT. Hurrah for nasal biodefences.
  • I did, in fact, go to the trouble of transferring the phone noise from That Pilot That Noone Has, Because It's Illegal onto my phone. Remains to be seen if I actually keep it there in favour of my "classic 60's ringer noise", known to my phone as "Dring".
  • I still haven't decided if it's gotten suddenly cold, or if it's just my body screwing around due to aforementioned illness. The weatherman says hot and humid weather on the way, though. I can go sauna outside, maybe. Whee!

once again, Top Gear makes me laugh.

Jeremy Clarkson tells us that the number one best-selling "car" in the world is the Ford F150, of which 107 are sold per hour on average, exclusively in North America. It has, he points out, the same engine as the Ford GT, meaning that it'll beat a Porsche Boxter from a standing start (0-60MPH in 5.something). Which is all well and good, I suppose.

He then goes on to compare it unfavourably to the previous worst vehicle he ever drove, a Russian-made Jeep in Saigon.
