Of course, the timing of this is absolutely perfect. In a few days, you move to Dun Laoghaire or wherever. The new tenants arrive at your current place, and Bobby drops round to say, "Oi, where's my milk?"...
better to give him yogurt or cheese -- adult cats are generally lactose intolerant, and milk can produce some unpleasant intestinal results, to which i generally refer by their scientific name: "stinky poop". the enzymes in yogurt and cheese eat up the lactose, thus making it more intestinally-friendly than other milk products.
And if he's anything like MY cat, he will lurrrrrrrrve cheese.
Gwydion also likes ice cream. When I first got him he would raid my ice-cream dish when my back was turned. It was stuff like that which got him his name, plus he just looks mischievous. (He's actually a fraidy-cat though.)
