Included in my latest credit card bill: a flyer for MBNA 3D Secure - "it's like chip and PIN - only for the Internet!"

What, it's a meaningless addition to the verification process, the main aim of which is to make the card operator even less liable for fraud and instead make it the cardholder's fault?

I absolutely hate the fact that the credit cards, gas company's EZ Pass etc feel the absolute need to clog you recycling bin with offers of other shit. I mean, do I really want to buy personalized stamps or would they prefer that I paid the minimum balance. A conflict of interest in my money it seems.
