Having had one roommate who played accordian and another who played uileann pipes and low flute, I can say with authority that this is not the music that whets my whistle and I am on a one man crusade to extinct this abomination they dare call an instrument, HA!
It was a bit crap. There were a dozen people in the bar including staff, half of those were (possibly drunken) assholes who just wanted to hear their favourite songs (which, lucky for me, coincided with what I was thinking of playing), and I was the only actual open mic candidate - the other two performers were the MC and a friend of the MC's who agreed to fill out the roster a bit.
I played a few covers. Nothing dramatic or spectacular. And I didn't play so well, and I think my voice was worse than usual but without any sort of monitor it was hard to tell.

I'm thinking of taking my accordion to an open mike on Wednesday, but I will have a little practicing to do before then.
