Honestly, I thought we'd lost it. I will be sending my medical bills to Eddie O'Sullivan both for the scare during the game and the liver damage afterwards.
I hadn't been watching the match and I walked into the sitting room while they were doing technology over a doubtful try. So I got to see the tense "will they make it" moment.
Truth be told, there was a hell of a lot of luck in our win, and not all of it was of the "you make your own luck" sort, either. Our first try probably shouldn't have happened, the line-out that led to the second try was probably wrong as well, and we were lucky that one player didn't get sent off for punching not one, but two of the opposition (same punch, just that the recipients were nicely lined up, and I guess the second guy might not even have been hit but was just recoiling).
We did a three day bender for St. Patricks weekend. Each year we always procrastinate and then succumb to the pressures of copious drinking for the hell of it.
