green fridge

Between this and the cupboard that grows potatoes, I figure I could grow fresh veg by simply NOT TRYING.

That looks safe enough

I was worried it might be fungal.

Yes, but it renders the garlic cloves pretty much useless because all their content has gone into producing that damned shoot. I think I'll stick to garlic paste in future.

Oh, don't get garlic paste! It's a terrible substitute...

You know, I've never put garlic in the refrigerator. The best, I've found, is to put it in a small ceramic crock on the counter. Dark and dry, and it doesn't sprout. Some fancy kitchen stores sell pottery especially designed for such a thing, with little vent holes in the sides and a lid. You don't really need anything that fancy, though.

What [livejournal.com profile] canetoad said. Garlic paste != garlic, as it contains all kinds of other muck.

Why did that comment say I posted at 18:10 when I posted it at 19:10. Sheesh, I'm not merely in the same time zone, but the same city as waider.

Check through your windows before stepping out the door, just in case someone has dropped your home in the Atlantic. ;)

I made a comment about this a while ago; something I posted on someone else's journal showed up with a timezone that was incorrect for both of us. I have no idea why.

You can cut up the shoots and eat them like scallions. They're good.
