Yes, but it renders the garlic cloves pretty much useless because all their content has gone into producing that damned shoot. I think I'll stick to garlic paste in future.

You know, I've never put garlic in the refrigerator. The best, I've found, is to put it in a small ceramic crock on the counter. Dark and dry, and it doesn't sprout. Some fancy kitchen stores sell pottery especially designed for such a thing, with little vent holes in the sides and a lid. You don't really need anything that fancy, though.
I made a comment about this a while ago; something I posted on someone else's journal showed up with a timezone that was incorrect for both of us. I have no idea why.
