Terror! Skies! Flee!

I like this: that story about the terrorist dry run that's doing the rounds? it's bunkum. In particular,
The source said the air marshals on the flight were partially concerned Jacobsen's actions could have been an effort by terrorists or attackers to create a disturbance on the plane to force the agents to identify themselves.
Mind you, I don't like so much that her inadvertent ploy appears to have worked, in that at least one of the marshals apparently identified himself to her.

I read a story somewhere after this appeared, when some major news source (it might've been the New York Times) claimed it couldn't find out where the musicians were playing. Somebody called around—in fact, I think it's whoever wrote the "Syrian Wayne Newton" article in the National Review—and found out within about ten minutes which casino it was and when.

Jacobsen's article was a little scary, but when I got to the bit about the track suits I said to myself, "Self, come ON."

As I read it, I found the article troubling, but in a racist way - once you've mentally categorised someone, cognitive dissonance makes sure you'll see other features that confirm your initial categorisation and disregard anything that doesn't fit - but when I read the bit about her looking to Ann Coulter's writing for a, uh, unprejudiced and fair viewpoint, I figured the rest of the article may as well have been entirely fabricated.

Which I accept is my own form of profiling and cognitive dissonance, but there you have it.
