Mr Blunkett claimed the biometric system would make UK ID cards impossible to forge - unlike cards used elsewhere in Europe.

jon stewart did a rather inspired riff the other day on the biometric ID tag theme: colin powell had announced that many of our allies won't have them in place by the determined deadline, and isn't that horrible, but at least once they get them into place, we'll be safe from all the terrorists who are from allied nations, use their own passport, with their actual biometric identification, that has already been registered in our databases.
