dis-ease

Weird. First one of my friends' kids comes down with Guillane-Barré disease, which is (a) not fully understood, (b) not wholly curable [1], then I get news that a friend's father has suffered a slight case of death which is again (a) not fully understood and (b) rather more incurable, and then shortly after that I find out that an old and good friend has endometriosis, which is again (a) not fully understood and (b) apparently not wholly curable either.

This is a worrisome trend. Could everyone please stop being incurably ill for a moment or two?

[1] I've read a few websites, and had commentary from a doctor, and it's along the lines of "lots of people recover, but some don't, and there's the potential for lingering side-effects for, like, ever."

Which part about death are you having trouble understanding?
