this just gets funnier and funnier
From: "webmaster@eircom.ie" <webmaster@eircom.ie>The redacted number marked [1] above is, in fact, the number that appears on the bill that was sent to me. From this I am determining that I do not in fact exist, and therefore can't possibly pay the bill. Ho hum. Shame, that.

Hello Ronan,
We have checked the eircom account number: and associated telephone number that you entered on registration:
Account number: XXXXXXXX [1]
Our records show that your account number and telephone number do not match and your account registration could not be completed.
Has your number changed recently? Please check your account number and telephone number which can be found on the top right hand corner of your bill then re-enter your details on the "register an account" page.
You can re-enter your account number and telephone number by logging in and clicking into the 'Your registration details' section in the navigation bar. Click on 'Register an account' to attempt another registration.
Reasons why telephone numbers and account numbers may not validate:
- An invalid telephone number or account number was entered
- You have recently received service, first bill has not been issued
- You may have been disconnected
- Did not select correct area code when entering telephone number
- Account is not active
Remember your username is your email address.
If you would like to check your details you can ring: 1901. Please have your account number and phone number close at hand.
If you have any queries, please email webmaster@eircom.ie
Kind regards,
Dervilla Mullan
