diamonds are forever
According to the Diamond High Council, "It is not a symbol of eternal love if it is something that was created last week.".

De Beers

I think it's kind of pathetic that to get a really evil-looking logo you have to go to a freakin' paint company:
Sherwin-Williams
opec logo
It also has a certain non-American[1] je ne sais quoi about it, like the visitor's center on the Q.E.W. in Fort Erie, Ontario, just over the border from Buffalo, N.Y., that looks like no building that an American would ever build, or the interior architecture of the Aéroport Charles de Gaulle. These three things all come from the Western design tradition, but carry a distinct foreign flavor that's hard to put a finger on.
[1] Not "unAmerican" or "anti-American," just not American.
