diamonds are forever

According to the Diamond High Council, "It is not a symbol of eternal love if it is something that was created last week.".

Never mind that, I'm still giggling at the notion of a "Diamond High Council"

The thing that annoys me about big evil cartels is that they always have wimpy-looking logos. Examples:

De Beers

OPEC

I think it's kind of pathetic that to get a really evil-looking logo you have to go to a freakin' paint company:

Sherwin-Williams

I really like the computing applications. Superspeed!

(Oh, and who gives a shit if they're mass-produced or not? But I've never cared that much for diamonds to begin with. They're pretty and all, but I like plain silver, especially if it's claddagh-shaped. ^_^ )

I have always loved OPEC's logo. Its never-changed, dated look just screams "gas crisis" to me.

It also has a certain non-American[1] je ne sais quoi about it, like the visitor's center on the Q.E.W. in Fort Erie, Ontario, just over the border from Buffalo, N.Y., that looks like no building that an American would ever build, or the interior architecture of the Aéroport Charles de Gaulle. These three things all come from the Western design tradition, but carry a distinct foreign flavor that's hard to put a finger on.

[1] Not "unAmerican" or "anti-American," just not American.

Also in favor of the OPEC logo is that it sort of looks like a battle-axe if you squint.

One of the Interrobang Cartel logos is inspired by the OPEC logo:

(Not designed by me, incidentally.)

That Sherwin-Williams logo is fantastically horrifying.

On the up side, it looks like Australia will be one of the last continents to be drenched in blood.

You're actually the second person who mentioned claddagh rings in the context of this article.
