Problems with Tom's Absurdly Easy Chocolate Cake:

  1. Halving the quantities to make a smaller cake didn't quite work.

  2. No cocoa, so I used drinking chocolate. This means it's far sweeter than it should be. Not that I have a problem with this, mind.

  3. No cake tin, would you believe. The nearest approximation I had to hand was a Pyrex dish, suitable for making a sizeable loaf of bread. In these environs the cake probably didn't cook as intended.

  4. Biggest problem by far: Every time I wander into the kitchen feeling hungry, I think, "MMM! CHOCOLATE CAKE!"
