jesus in a box

James Cameron claims in a documentary that he's found the tomb of Jesus. This article is just full of fun. Skeptics will apparently love Cameron on account of how the find pokes holes in the resurrection story, which, er, would said skeptics not also be skeptical of Cameron's claims in the first place? And a local resident welcomes the "discovery" on the grounds that it'll increase her property value. I guess the silly season arrived early this year...

Judging from the Metafilter discussion, yes, skeptics are skeptical. Some argue 'Yeshua' was a fairly common name at the time, and finding Yeshua's tomb is not difficult. Others wonder what DNA anything has to do with it since there's nothing to verify samples against. Still others contend that Jesus the Messiah was all made up in the first place, so it's all a hoax, whether proof for or proof against.

Although my favorite arguments are still, "James Cameron obviously didn't find Jesus' tomb because Jesus ascended into heaven. The Bible says so."
