I gotta say, I'm really getting tired of these "What kind of $thing are you?" tests. Most people make a big deal about how they're different, despite the fact that the happy marketing folk have us all neatly penned in something like 17 categories which are apparently pretty damned reliable (now where's that test?). So I don't quite get the attraction of seeing which little pigeon hole you fit into, especially when it's a range of maybe four choices.
Or maybe I'm just getting ticked off with my peer group again.

that's the interest, for me. not the result, but the process of determining it.

The inkblot test was more interesting to take, at least.

being ticked off at your friends for doing them, i can't. is this about your 'friends' page again? because i should think expecting people's livejournals to be 100% content that's interesting to you personally at all times is more or less like expecting the same of talk.bizarre. you think we're always fascinated by everything you post?

You are also carrying a prejudice about the motivation of those who take the tests. Not everyone takes these tests to find a niche in which to force themselves, and i highly doubt any of "us" are taking them with that intention.
If you're feeling cranky, there's probably a "What sort of cranky Irishman are you?" quiz waiting out there for you. I say go for it. And if there isn't one, by gum, write one.
