Every so often some combination of prevailing wind, stock market averages, and, uh, butterflies a-flappin' their wings results in me apparently losing my login credentials cookie at livejournal.com. Typically, I don't notice this until after I've posted an anonymous comment. Of course, because this is an intermittent occurrence, I have yet to determine what causes it, but damn it's annoying.

maybe they switched some bit somewhere, because for the last few days, lj keeps arbitrarily forgetting me when i try to view one of my filtered lists, although it has clearly shown me friendslocked posts indicating it knew i was logged in.

I've noticed a similar thing where if I go to the post page it doesn't seem to recognize that I'm logged in. It's got the "username" and "password" fields up and it doesn't let me choose any of my icons. I have to post my article, then edit the article and select which icon I want.

This happens in Firefox 2.0 but not Safari.
