Although I'm sure you've seen it already: famed(?) Mali musician dies. I'm assuming he's famed, given the widespread coverage this received.

He was famous enough that I knew it was Ali Farka Toure before I clicked on the link, for what it's worth. But then I'm kind of a guitar geek.

I googled "Kanau Mali" to see where in the country his birthplace might be, but all the first page of results will tell me is that he was born there!
