C++ and STL

I think it's bad enough that C++ is a joke that got taken too seriously without someone adding the whoopee cushion of STL onto the side of it, only for MORE people to take it seriously. Yeesh. The only reason I'm debugging this stupid non-compiling C++ is because replacing it with a C library I understand would take too long.

Pick a reason:

• Because I'm fixing compiler warnings that I don't understand with patches I don't understand in order to get this thing into working shape; this means that there's a good chance I'm doing it wrong, and I don't have much hope of correcting it
• Because my using a C++/STL library implicitly condones such things
• Because I like complaining
• Because I've nothing better to do between compiles than complain
