my st. patrick's day contribution

To celebrate the day that's in it, I slept late, watched a movie when I got up (Road Trip, which surprised me by not being a stinking pile of crap), and sort of wombled around the house doing little-to-nothing.

I had a screening interview for a reference position at a Lutheran university.

Later, I shall go to work, and then punch things.

Today I successfully resisted the urge to start wishing you a "Happy St. Pat's" every St. Patrick's Day for the rest of our mutual lives. That'll be $25.

I made cream of celery and cream of asparagus soups today. That's the only contact with green I have had today.

As for the Irish thing, um, I have one more bottle of Guinness in the fridge. Does that count?

I worked from (am until 8:30pm. I'm about to tuck into some homemade sourdough, which has been topped with extra mature cheddar and a little green chili sauce (mandatory touch of green ;>), with cherry tomatoes on the side. That's about as exciting as today is gonna get.

Bar scene in Boston

Hilarious! Every muddah out there wearing green. I had emailed Waider's 2000 comments on the day to a few people and pissed off more than one person tonight by asking what their passport said. Problem is that in a blue collar bar most of the "Yanks" don't have a passport.

Still I survived with Padraic at the bar and being surrounded by friends (Irish and those who claim not to be) of all backgrounds.

I was thinking maybe next year it might be an idea to have The List printed out business-card size and you could just hand one to relevant folks and walk off.
