Is he still using 'will of the people' and 'mandate' eight times a day? It's not even that he's being fed key phrases and coached to insert them as frequently as possible, it's that the kind of affect he adopts communicates to me that barely understands what he's saying.
It was starting to sound like only the foreign press picked up on the malaprop, but the Reuters wire is headlining it. Several newspapers are running the quote, but nobody's offering the derision it deserves.
Actually, I'm not convinced this is a faux pas. It sounds like he basically meant, "I'm not going to discuss details of all the various options and compare them to one another, because it would be like debating myself on all their different merits, and I would probably end up being trapped by something negative I might say about one of them."
