bemused

It is a sign of our nation's development over the last $period that there is more ruckus over the Taoiseach's comment that he is a "true socialist" last weekend than over his positive statements on same-sex civil unions during the same interview.

Fuck, the latter is good to see, though.

Can I just say that I love your chief executive's title? It makes it sound like he got the job by defeating Clugg the Barbarian and uniting the tribes, or by being the reincarnation of the last Taoiseach or something.

If it helps, his "wingman" is the Táiniste. And despite the more-or-less correct fit in terms of role, "chief executive" just sounds like far too much power for Bertie With The Anorak From Glasnevin.

Taoiseach

On Comrade Berite's official title that King Mob loves, I do like the story that when Jack Charlton was appointed manager of "the" Irish soccer team [the one south of the border], he met Our Great Leader at some event. He knew it was an official title but misheard it and was subsequently picked up on when he referred to meeting the Tea-shop.
