how Bono got his groove back

Wow. October was a weak album, particularly after the very impressive debut that was Boy, but some portion of the weakness was attributed to the briefcase full of stolen lyrics which left Bono making up lyrics as he stood at the mike in the studio. At least, assuming that bit of Dunphy's contentious biography of the band is accurate. Mind you, for a weak album, it still produced the rather excellent songs Gloria and 40, both of which became firm favourites at gigs.
