Diebold punted from California

Following on from yesterday's news that my own elected representatives have agreed not to go ahead with electronic voting, California's Secretary of State came to the same conclusion. Mind you, Kev had a bit more dirty linen to work with.

Unfortunately, at least in the presidental election California was never contested. Gary Coleman could win an all-electronic California election against Bush.

What's going to be important is whether electronic voting is allowed in contested states, where you only need to alter a handful of votes to change who wins there.
