xscreensaver now has pty support in phosphor. This is something I tooled around with a few years back, then abandoned, promising myself I'd return to it. I guess I don't have to any more.

I was sorely tempted to use one of these unused lj codes to create a user called xscreensaver just so I could post a followup to this. Then I realised that I'd only be inviting abuse from the xscreensaver on my desktop, once it noticed I was spoofing it...
