we're goin' metric

Now you'll be able to find crossroad signposts telling you the nearest town is 1.6km in both directions, since we're ditching all of those "Inch 1 mile" signs.

Having driven in canada and had the resulting headache from trying to think metric at 90mph, I offer my condolences.

We've had partial metric signposting for years now - roughly, if the sign's white-on-green, it's metric, if it's black-on-white, it's Imperial. I think pretty much everyone converts to miles in their head, though.

Or they look down at the speedo and use that to convert. Yay dual-standard speedos!

You mean they'll say "25.4 mm 1.5 km"?
