All applications should be executed on secure servers and merely have their user interfaces displayed on the desktops.

In other words, Thin Client. Or X Windows, for those of us who've been using computers for the last decade or more. Apparently you don't even need to have anything new to say to write a piece for c|net.

Damn straight. You'll run what we want, when we want to, and none of your mucking about with non-standard DLLs and whatnot.

Also, I like the idea that you only have to infect a single server instead of a bunch of desktops.

Ah, but if you did somehow manage to infect the nigh-invulnerable server, it will be instantly removed from the server farm (because, you know, Spider Sense) and you'll have to... uh... do exactly the same thing you did to the first one to the rest of them.

What was the good part about this plan, again?
