Hook's In You

Clutching At Straws is an album all about alcholism, or drinking stories, or both, and whether intentional or not it's got some very raw emotions in places, or what seems like it. "Warm Wet Circles" is one of the songs from the album that always, always grabs me, hook, line and sinker, and refuses to let go. I've just read through a bit about the genesis of the song, and Fish says it wasn't intended to be a bitter song, but you can read it that way; I tend to read it (or hear it) as a hundred little insignificant moments of sadness, which somehow all coalesce into an overwhelming sense of loss. It's like all the things you planned on doing but never did.

Go do something spontaneous today. Don't regret it when you can no longer do it.
