a small bit of advice for RSS feed generators

Handing out HTML at your feed's URL to indicate that your feed is temporarily broken isn't smart, because RSS readers don't expect HTML, they expect RSS. Thus, your polite notice about your broken feed will be unseen by the vast majority of people.
