I remember once scandalizing my church's youth minister with the suggestion of eating leftover pizza without heating it up first. "You... eat... cold pizza?" Maybe not everyone likes cold pizza, but evidently it had never occurred to her that that was something anyone would even consider eating.
The nephew, when he was nine or ten years old, was quite startled to be told in a pizza-serving joint in town that they did not have either corn or pineapple as they were not genuine Italian ingredients.
He also grumbled at the "parma", doubting my assurance that it was ham. "If it's ham why doesn't it say ham on the menu?"
If by "perfectly good pizza topping", you mean "you can put it on pizza without having the pizza reject it with violent force", sure. But as a pizza ingredient, it is abomination and i therefore shun it.
