I found Nethack, or maybe just Hack, while trawling through floppies on a cousin's Atari ST. Same motivation as trawling Archie; what budding computer geek could resist running a file named HACK.EXE (or whatever the ST's equivalent was)? However, since I could never really get into the game - in particular after they introduced (or I discovered) the non-linear levels in NH3.1, among other things - it was never that much of a time sink. The Bitmap Brothers' Gods, now, that was an entirely different matter.
