That sounds pretty cool, but you could pretty much just do the Link Wray thing and slash your speakers for the same effect.

Actually it sounds like it's likely to blow your speakers if you used it in an old-fashioned signal path.

Well, yeah, there's a comment in the copy somewhere about how it'll destroy some solid-state (I think) devices. I get the impression that these people have no respect for anything not made of some sort of bomb-proof tube technology.
