Wait, wait. Let me get this straight. 40% of short-term absence occurs at weekends, i.e. on Mondays and Fridays, right? Yep, that's apparently what they're outraged about.

Survey reports that 98.3% of managers have no comprehension of what statistics actually mean.[1] On that front, it's actually funny, but not in a good way, to hear our operations manager talk about health and safety stats.



[1] Further surveys show that 88.2% of statistics are made up on the spot.

Well, yes. IIRC, it was PHB being outraged that 20% of absenteeism occurred on Fridays.
